Last week we started a series on some of the top new landscape products for 2012. Here are the others we thought you should know about:

ThermaCELL lanterns and devices

When you’re enjoying a warm summer evening on your patio, there’s nothing worse than being forced indoors by biting insects. ThermaCELL’s lanterns and handheld devices have come to save summer evenings for all. These products
will ward off biting bugs, black flies and other insects in a 15-by-15-foot area and, according to a test conducted by the U.S. Department of Defense, they’re 98 percent effective. The repellent used by ThermaCELL, allethrin, is a copy of
the natural insecticide found in chrysanthemum flowers.

Culinary Herb Garden

The Growers Exchange offers a customizable Culinary Herb Garden Kit perfect for your own windowsill, or for gifting. Choose from six kit options that represent specific flavors found in cuisines—such as French, Italian and Middle Eastern—and include four fresh herb plants, potting soil, a hand-thrown rustic clay pot and detailed planting instructions.

Showoff.com

Powered by VisApps, Showoff.com is a free, user-friendly online visualizer that lets homeowners upload photos, redesign outdoor spaces with products and plants from a growing list of options, and then show the contractor exactly what they want.
