➎ Bar Stools: Homeowners Kyle and Jennifer Phillippi, wanted to incorporate color from their favorite poster prints. Radhika Vydianathan’s tips for designing an 
eye-catching basement and wine bar
• Consider every element an element of décor, down to the bottles on display. I decided to showcase Kyle and Jennifer’s rosé to reflect the backlight better.
• Take inspiration from commercial spaces and bring that into your home. Hotel brands that are my personal favorites include Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and JW Marriott.
• Continuity in the flooring throughout your home will help connect each space. In the Phillippi household, I matched the hardwood on the main level to the basement floors to achieve this.
