Meet Kianna Patrick, Design Consultant and 2026 Rising Star
Kianna Patrick
Design Consultant, Construction Resources
After studying marketing and working in events, Kianna Patrick couldn’t ignore a pull toward design, earning a kitchen and bath certificate that confirmed her path. Recognized in the National Kitchen + Bath Association (NKBA) 2026 30 Under 30, Patrick stands out for opening her own doors, never allowing her path to be linear.
What new trends are you excited about?
For a long time, kitchens and bathrooms were purely functional. Now, clients are approaching them with the same intentionality they’d bring to a living room or a primary suite. That boldness is showing up in fabrication, too: unique stone cuts, unexpected material combinations, finishes you wouldn’t have seen years ago.
Do you have a favorite design project?
The project that sticks with me most was an accessibility focused hotel room I had to design during school. Accessibility design is very technically demanding and getting it wrong isn’t just an aesthetic issue. It affects someone’s daily life. Working through this project gave me confidence I didn’t expect.
What advice can you give to other young designers?
The opportunities you want may not come through the doors you’re standing in front of and that’s okay. Stay flexible. The path to your vision rarely looks the way you imagined it would, but that doesn’t mean you’re off course.
