The originally awkward and 30-year-old bathroom in this Raleigh home was in need of more space and a more welcoming atmosphere. The space was redesigned to allow for a much larger and more open space.
The greatest challenge was the existing window. The owners wanted to keep it where it was but current code only allows windows over bathtubs that have tempered glass. Home Revision found a solution to this situation by having transparent film professionally installed, saving hundreds of dollars. Another challenge was creating access for the air-jet tube. This feat was tackled by placing a tiled panel on the front of the tub deck, giving ease to removal if tub repairs become necessary.
A wonderful change was the expansion of the existing walk in shower. The homeowners were tired of feeling claustrophobic every time they used it so something needed to be done. The shower is now much larger and with a built-in bench, built-in soap niche and a showerhead and an additional handheld showerhead to run on a diverter, allowing for use of both at the same time. The floor was hand-tiled with a mosaic blend of travertine tile.
Also, a great amount of storage was achieved with the newly constructed corner double vanity with a beautiful granite counter top in Santa Cecilia Light, and cabinets with a flattering Praline finish from KraftMaid.
The owners of this new master bathroom can now enjoy an open bathroom with warm colors and a welcoming feel.
