Contractor: Raymond Gonzales
The goal for this home was to create more useable space in the kitchen and eating area, while using materials and products that are safe, have low or zero VOC (volatile organic compounds) content and would not negatively impact the indoor air quality. The kitchen draws attention to the six-burner cooktop, surrounded by recycled paper and cement-based countertops, incorporated with bamboo butcher block, and custom glazed cabinets. Throughout the project, green products were used wherever possible to avoid compromising air quality and to avoid off-gassing and preserve the health of the family.
