It’s every homeowner’s nightmare. The owners of this Northbrook home were in the midst of an extensive master suite remodel, when the first floor flooded. There was damage to the kitchen, dining area, laundry and office. At one point, they probably threw their arms in the air and wondered aloud as to what could happen next. But just when they could have easily given up, they chose to shift gears and design and install a brand new kitchen, with the help of the talented team at Inspired Living Spaces in Gurnee.
“Time was of the essence,” explains Jay Lovett, CEO of Inspired Living Spaces. “Creating a new layout and look with the existing footprint yet leaving the soffits was a challenge.”
Featuring custom-built cherry cabinets, Cambria Windermere countertops and an Atlas Concorde metallic ceramic-tile backsplash, the kitchen was transformed. Bosch appliances were installed along with LED linear lighting to showcase some of the kitchen’s dynamic new features. Benjamin Moore paint in Manchester Tan was used as the perfect backdrop to the new space. Before long, the project grew to include and integrate the family room with the kitchen and dining room. Overall, the project included new doors, windows, trim, flooring, cabinets, closets, lighting and a fireplace.
