An Entertaining Project

When homeowners Robert and Gale Vittitow moved into their much larger, new home, they were thrilled with the fact that it included space for a home theater. They decided to recreate the look of an oldstyle, Hollywood-inspired movie theater. For that all-important fi rst impression—the entrance to the theater—drama and mystique were added by allowing guests to enter by walking past a green velvet rope, then passing through pulled-back, gold brocaded velvet draperies. Above their heads is a plaque reading “Le Cinema de Bijou”, translating from French to “a small, delicate jewel of a movie theater”—a reference to Gale’s love of Paris.
