Radon is an odorless, colorless, radioactive gas that can seep into homes through cracks in the foundations, walls, crawl spaces and wells. It is the leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. for non-smokers, resulting in more than 20,000 cases per year, according to a press release from HomeSeal Atlanta, a local radon mitigation company. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has designated January as National Radon Action Month, and HomeSeal Atlanta is offering free test kits so that area homeowners can find out if their homes put them at risk. HomeSeal Atlanta was recently recognized as the No. 2 mitigation company in the National Radon Defense Network. If action is needed to solve a radon problem in your home, solutions may include soil suction, sealing, house/room pressurization, heat recovery ventilation, and natural ventilation. To receive a free test kit, call (877) 345-5085 or visit www.atlantaradonmitigation.com for more information. Get more Atlanta home improvement news and information.
