Budget Bedroom Makeover Features a Bright Pop of Color
Inspired by discounted black-and-white damask bedding, Atlanta interior designer Donna Marie Batts gave her client’s lackluster guest bedroom/home office an entirely new flavor on a budget.
Before

After

With newly painted bright green walls, a reupholstered French Provincial chair and a few clearance-priced accessories, Donna was able to give her client the plush oasis they had always dreamed of. Cutting costs by using items the couple already had throughout their home, the bedroom makeover rang up at $859.
Here is what Donna had to say about the project:
“This guest room transformation was a 5-week journey encompassing budget-conscious treasure hunts and do-it-yourself projects. My client wanted to convert their lackluster guest bedroom/home office into a plush oasis. My inspiration – the black and white damask bedding that was a ½ price STEAL from Dillards. Staying true to my “Use What You Got” credo, I painted the existing bed and two nightstands glossy black. A discarded French Provincial chair was given new life with silver spray paint and new upholstery. Custom window treatments with discount fabric from Frugal Fabrics added ‘drama’. Clearance-priced accessories, personalized embroidery and a pop of green on the walls rounded out the project like to call ‘Apple Martini’!”
