Coastal Kitchen Design
For Rising Star Rosa Moreno, owner of Rosa Moreno Kitchens, the finishing touches of a kitchen are a few of her favorite things. But when she gets her hands on the bones, it becomes something that far surpasses a simple wish list. Here she walks us through the before-and-after of this coastal-inspired kitchen that took one family’s favorite space from chaos to serenity.
“The heart of this transformation lies in the strategic choices made to optimize both functionality and aesthetic appeal,” Moreno said. “We started with the decision to install a range instead of a cooktop and separate oven, and by centering the range and vent hood on the focal wall, we created balance and symmetry, drawing the eye and anchoring the space.”
Installing cabinets to the ceiling eliminated the original varying heights that broke up the view. Instead, she created a sense of spaciousness and sophistication, while maximizing storage.
“The removal of the raised bar from the island was a must!” Moreno added. “We wanted to create a seamless transition and foster an inviting atmosphere for both intimate gatherings and culinary adventures.”
Amidst showstopping transformations, perhaps the most captivating aspect of this remodel is its color palette.
“Soft blues, sandy neutrals and hints of brass work harmoniously to reflect the timeless allure of coastal living,” Moreno said. “Inspired by the soothing hues of the shoreline, the chosen colors infuse the space with a sense of calm and serenity, inviting you to unwind and enjoy time as a family.”
