These Durham homeowners were living with an outdated kitchen with inadequate storage and a layout that crowded the two cooks when they worked together. To bring the kitchen into the present—and add some eco-friendly twists at the same time—the couple teamed up with certifi ed kitchen designer Dawn Hintgen, AKBD, of Common Ground Green Building Center. The results were a more functional room and a modern space in which they now love to spend time.
