Sherwin-Williams Paint Scheme Grays and Beiges

By My Home Improvement Associate Publisher: David Leonard

My family and I recently moved into a fixer-upper in Grant Park. We had nothing hung on the walls, no major fixtures in place and nothing in the cabinets, which made it the perfect time to paint. Not to mention, a fresh coat of paint is one of the fastest ways to make a new home feel like yours.

The challenge was to quickly pick colors we loved before we moved in. We consulted interior designer Kerry Howard of KMH Interiors to help with the process. By having Kerry come into our home prior to closing, we were able to hit the ground running when it came to painting.

We decided to use Sherwin-Williams paint throughout. Our neutral color palette of grays and beiges will allow us to use a rotation of bright accent items to liven up spaces throughout the seasons.

For our kitchen we used a deep gray, Tin Lizzie, to offset the bold blue pearl countertops we had chosen. Along the cabinets and on the bar in the kitchen we used a slightly lighter complementary gray, Colonnade Gray. Throughout the home we went with a Skyline Steel with Westhighland White accents on the trim and molding.

We also made sure we chose durable paint, which is necessary for our family. The saturated colors covered the existing paint like a dream. We couldn't be happier with our decision.
