For our second day of “30 Days & 30 Ways to Give Your Home Some Love,” Best Self staffer, Kim Cooper and I were able to meet with design mavens Kelly Klafter, Beth Johnson, and Julia Garrahan of Bekel Home + Design.

From the moment we walked into The Bekel Home + Design studio in Alpharetta, it was tranquil. The charming look not only made me feel at home but it also made me wish my home looked like the studio! When we sat down with Kelly, Beth, and Julia, they explained the 30-year-journey of design that led them to create this savvy space.
Using your unique style and their design expertise, Kelly, Beth, and Julia can create a personalized, stylish, and functional home space customized just for you. At their in-store Design Bar, the ladies of Bekel help everyday people, like Kim, find the perfect addition.
After her recent move, Kim was looking for a living room setup that would hold up against kids, pets, and anything else life could throw at it. Bekel had more than enough options for Kim’s needs. Kim had her eye on the Jeffrie in Neutral Million Gun Smoke. The fabric is extra durable and able to stand the test of time—or wine stains!

Customers will find one-of-a-kind items at this small-town store. Each piece is designed or selected by Beth and Kelly, and many of them are locally sourced. We love the fact that items here are not something we would find at big-box businesses.
One of my personal favorites at Bekel is a wooden dining table that can be customized with different finishes and leaf extensions to seat families from two to 20. The store’s locally handcrafted dining sets make a great meeting place for family gatherings, and not to mention, can be passed down for generations.

“Find your inspiration piece and build your room around it,” says Beth. “Whether your inspiration is artwork, a rug, or throw pillow, bring it to Bekel and be amazed at the magic we can create for you.”

Call 770-857-3990 or email to set up an in-home or design bar appointment or drop by at 30 N. Main St., Alpharetta, GA.
