You’ve been watching all of those shows on HGTV and they’ve inspired you to take your home’s look to the next level. The problem is, you’re not the homeowner on the screen receiving the complimentary upgrade. You actually have to stick to a budget and don’t have much to allot for a total transformation.
Here’s where Christy Tarver comes in. As owner of Homes by Christy ATL, Tarver attributes her keen eye to her years of experience in remodeling, staging, and building renovation. Tarver says it’s all about mixing the elements. “This technique is fun and adds personality to a room. Use items you already own and add new pieces to create a fresh look.
LET THERE BE LIGHT
“We used this chandelier over a white farmhouse table in our dining room. Your light fixtures will change the whole look of a room,” Tarver says. “In this case, we created a look of elegance from the lighting. To bring the two elements together, you can add a country-style vase with eye-catching flowers in the center of the table resting on a crystal silver tray.

GLAM IT UP
“I love this lamp! It has lots of glamour and glitz. We used it in the master bedroom with a distressed wood bed base and fabric headboard,” Tarver says. “We also had matching side tables with mirrored fronts and we changed the hardware on the tables from rubbed bronze to round crystal knobs.” In an effort to bring the two elements together, “we chose a soft gray bedding set and added more glamour with sequined-covered accent pillows and a matching throw blanket.”

AMAZE WITH ANIMAL PRINT
“Never be afraid to toss in animal print,” Tarver says. “In the right space [think living room] accompanied with modern pieces, it will
create a stunning sight to see.”
