Tall Fescue also requires less mowing, so you can spend more time enjoying your yard. This medium-blade grass thrives at two to three-inch heights; in fact, those long blades help hold in moisture throughout the fall and winter. In the summer, Fescue does require deep watering, but in the fall you can pull back on the frequency, especially if Mother Nature provides consistent rain.
