Families get free furniture from Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta
Just last year, the Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta provided over 5,000 people in need with gently used furniture donations and diverted over 30,000 mattresses from ending up in a landfill. The southwest Atlanta-based organization exists to distribute free and donated furniture to families transitioning out of homelessness, fleeing domestic violence and overcoming difficult situations. While the Furniture Bank doesn’t accept drop-ins, potential recipients can be referred by a client-agency of the organization or a caseworker. To schedule a donation for pick-up, please visit their website.
