Front Porch Remodel Inspired by Mountain Cabin
The front porch is one of the signature features of Southern homes, offering guests a warm welcome inside as well as increasing curb appeal. In a recent Atlanta area front porch remodel, MOSAIC Group [Architects and Remodelers] transforms the exterior of the home with a style inspired by a rustic mountain cabin.
Before
After
What started as a boxy traditional brick facade is now an inviting outdoor living space, where the homeowners can entertain and relax. In addition to building out the front porch and accenting it with cedar posts and stone materials, the company had to overcome the challenge of integrating the porch with the existing landscape to fight drainage problems. The solution adds several levels of hardscaping in front of and around the porch to protect it from water intrusion.
