BEFORE

The couple who owns this Roswell home wanted a new sunroom that would offer a view of their backyard, along with a maintenance-free patio. Their requirements included energy-efficient and green-building practices, natural daylighting and a look that blended with the existing architectural style of the home. The team at MOSAIC Group [Architects and Remodelers] set to work, incorporating green-construction processes that included high-quality and energy-efficient windows; Icynene spray-foam insulation that was applied to the walls, roof, crawl space and non-vented crawl space; solar water heater; rain-collection barrel; low-VOC paints; and a separate high-efficiency HVAC system to condition the new space. The end result is a new environmentally friendly space that offers a great view and is also eligible for federal tax credits.
