How to Better Insulate Your Home When Replacing Siding
Q: How can I increase the insulation in my home when replacing my siding?
A: There are multiple ways. When we re-side a house, we use house wrap, which has an R-value of two. R-value is a measure of how well a building is insulated, the higher the R-value,
the better. You can also ask that a micro-e reflective house wrap be put on. It’s a wrap with a reflective coating that pushes back ultraviolet (UV) rays and has an R-value of four. So, between house wrap and micro-e, you could end up increasing your R-value by six.
