Kennesaw’s Annual Pigs and Peaches BBQ Festival Offers Food and Fun

The annual Pigs and Peaches BBQ Festival hosted by the City of Kennesaw will be held on Friday, August 24, and Saturday, August 25, 2012. You’re in for a treat at this year’s event, known for its array of barbecued meats, live entertainment, and a firework spectacular the whole family can enjoy.Be sure to bring your appetite. The Festival features the Georgia State Championship Barbeque Cook-off with over $14,000 in cash prizes available, furnished by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Not ready for the big time? There will also be opportunities to enter small-stakes contests at the Festival, including the Backyard BBQ, Anything Butt, and Peach Dessert competitions.

While the barbeque makes this annual festival unforgettable, other homemade goodies are the icing on the cake. Enjoy signature refreshments, roasted corn, hot sauces, jams and more as you make your rounds through the vendors’ exhibits.

What better way to end the summer than experiencing the aroma of savory barbecue sauces and local Southern sounds from the Main Stage floating in the air? Start the school year off right by bringing the kids, who are sure to love the snacks, rides and music in the Kid Zone.
