Large Tiles in a Small Space Make a Bigger Impact
Tile gives you a wide variety of sizes, styles and design options. You can mix and match patterns and colors to create unique looks that fit every budget and specification.
• The use of large tiles in a small space can cast the illusion of a larger room.
• Large tiles give a clean, minimal look to the space, especially if you use a grout color that’s consistent with the tile. Don’t be afraid to use the larger tiles, including 12×24 and 18×36, in a shower or bathroom wall or to take them all the way to the ceiling.
• When laid vertically, larger rectangular tiles give the room extra height. If you lay large rectangular tiles in a horizontal offset pattern, be sure to remember the maximum recommended offset is 33%, as stated in the TCNA–Tile Council of North America.
• For large, heavy tiles (LHT), there are specially designed and formulated non-sag, latex-modified thin sets available which enable the tile to bond easily to walls and ceilings and stay in place. This allows for a smooth installation and beautiful results.
