Lyndsi Hawkins found her way into the industry through a series of experiences, opportunities and relationships that helped shape who she is as an interior designer. Surrounding herself with people who championed her ideas, encouraged her creativity and opened
doors along the way, she’s now the co-founder and CEO of her own design firm, Hawkins and Gray. With her faith as her foundation, she offers a collaborative, authentic approach to interior design that, through constant evolution and innovation, prioritizes purpose over recognition and wins clients over every single time.

What makes you great at your job?
Lyndsi Hawkins: I dig deep. I believe the magic is in the details—whether it’s selecting the right materials, capturing a client’s vision or making sure the entire process feels smooth and enjoyable. I also thrive on collaboration. I love working closely with everyone involved in the build process—the builder, architect, tradespeople and installers. Everyone brings something valuable to the table, and I make it a priority to pull the best from each perspective.

Who inspires you most every day? 
LH: My clients! Each project brings a new story, a fresh vision and a unique challenge to solve. I love the creative process of turning their ideas into something tangible and beautiful. A home should be a true reflection of the people who live in it, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to help bring that to life with purpose and intention.

What advice would you share with other young designers?
LH: You need grit—if you don’t have it, go out and find it. There’s nothing easy about doing a job well, and it takes persistence, humility and a willingness to keep showing up, even when it’s hard. Don’t be afraid to fail. Meet new people, ask questions and surround yourself with those who are a step or two ahead of you. Learn everything you can from them.

What pushes you in your career?
LH: I thrive on challenges—they push me to think differently, dig deeper and lean into the strengths of everyone involved. When each party works together toward a shared vision, it creates something truly impactful and lasting. It’s a reminder that challenges often lead to the most rewarding outcomes.
