Modern Atlanta Celebrates Design June 1-10, 2012
See a different side of Atlanta during Modern Atlanta’s 2012 “Design Is Human” Week, June 1-10, 2012. The fifth annual event is a celebration of all things modern, from fashion to film to architecture, and held at various venues throughout the city.“Design Is Human” Week kicks off Friday, June 8, with a launch party at the Terminus building in Buckhead, where you can immerse yourself in a modern design exhibition of new products for the home, architectural models and renderings and material trends and innovations. Plus, enjoy food and beverage service from Octane Coffee Bar, a panel discussion with Atlanta-based industry experts and guests from the Yale School of Architecture and more.
Another highlight of the multi-day event is the Modern Atlanta Tour of Homes, which takes you inside some of the city’s most interesting modern homes such as this home by Dencity LLC and Cablik Enterprises: The self-guided tour will be held Saturday and Sunday, June 9-10, 2012, with a pre-tour bonus in nearby Athens, Ga., a week earlier on Saturday, June 2 (that’s tomorrow!) Tickets are $35 ($25 for students) and may be purchased online. Each ticket grants admission to both Athens and Atlanta home tours as well as the launch party Friday, June 8. The “Design Is Human” Week booklet includes a tour guide with home locations and information.
