Old World Charm

This client¹s passion for Italian architecture, furniture and accessories set the stage for this family room makeover, with her prized collection of Majolica pottery providing inspiration for an overall color scheme.
The client wanted her home to have a warm, comfortable, lived-in feel with family friendly spaces to accommodate the activities of the couple¹s three small children. To achieve the Old World semblance, the wood floors were scraped and stained a dark shade, the painted woodwork and hand-troweled texture on the walls were glazed over, and Italian cast-stone fi replaces and rough-sawn wood beams were added to suggest many years of loving use.
