This 1960’s North Dallas ranch-style home was in need of updating. An exposed solarium, a very dated master bathroom and odd window and door placements through the living space made this home a perfect candidate for a remodel by Servant remodeling.
The living room’s original stone fireplace was replaced with rich and creamy colored tile, and built-ins were added to store the homeowner’s décor and photos. The newly added windows on the far side of the room open it up to let in more light.
The original solarium within the home which was converted to a home office, complete with built-in book shelves and a rolling ladder. Custom cabinetry and small windows provide light and interesting detail to this new space. The real novelty of this new room is the antiqued door on the far wall, though.
A vanity in the bedroom was removed, along with a door to a pool in order to make room for a spa shower and custom cabinetry. A private toilet room was even added. Large windows, hand-scraped hardwood and porcelain tile floors were installed throughout. The choice of accent tiles that flow from the shower floor through to create a backsplash for the bathtub add a relaxing and inviting feel to this enlarged master bathroom. The choice of rich textures and colors turned this space into a bright, sophisticated and functional home.
