With outdated white cabinetry, linoleum floors and lack of counter space and overall usability, this kitchen was a ready for a makeover. The results are a warm, inviting space ideal for this expanding family and for entertaining. All the cabinetry, flooring, plaster and windows were removed down to the frame. French doors opening onto the adjacent patio were added to let in more natural light and allow a view of the backyard while dining. Cork floors and a backsplash made from 100-percent post-consumer recycled high-density polyethylene add to the warmth of the kitchen and create a “green” look and feel.
