Q & A – How often should I mow for a lush lawn?

A: Most Atlantans have winter dormant Bermuda or zoysia grass that will begin actively growing around April. Once your green is in full swing, a great rule of thumb is to mow each week, occasionally mowing less during dry bouts. Make sure not to scalp the grass (cutting too far down to the root), taking no more than a third of the blade off each time you trim.
