Renovate and Celebrate!

Modern bathroom design with walk-in shower

It’s official, readers! May is National Home Improvement Month! We’ve had a lot of fun here celebrating all the things that make us love house projects. Of course, for me, that includes my recently finished primary bathroom (see picture below!). The contractors are gone and the drawer organizers are in place, new towels have been folded (see the ones we picked on page 26) and we’re putting the final touches on accents to make it feel like ours. I love new stuff in general, but this really feels like something special!

We’ve centered this issue around ways you can get in on the fun, too. To start, we’ve rounded up a list of projects starting on page 20 that you can do right now without a huge budget—five, in fact, all coming in under $5,000. I’ve tackled a few myself over the years and each one feels so good, makes a huge visual impact and leaves wiggle room in the budget to keep saving for the big stuff.

On page 16, we let the organization queens at NEAT Atlanta guide you through steps to get your kitchen operating in its most efficient state. The pool on page 18 is perfectly timed for warmer temps and feeds the urge to vacation in our own backyard. On page 31, local real estate pros offer their tips to get your home ready for the market (peak season is upon us!). On page 37, the design duo behind Duffy Scott Interiors shares a bedroom that makes us want to curl up … hopefully with this magazine at your fingertips!

There is so much to read in the issue, I hope you’ll be inspired to celebrate Home Improvement month, too! Even more, I hope you’ll share with me what you did. Send me your before-and-after photos or tag
@myhomeimprovementatl on Instagram. I can’t wait to see!

Happy home improving!
