Results: Atlanta 2012 “Decorating on a Dime” Contest
The results are in, and it’s time to reveal the winners of our 2012 “Decorating on a Dime” Contest! For the contest, professional and non-professional decorators in the Atlanta area were invited to enter their under $1,000 makeover projects, including an accounting of all expenses except labor, for the chance to win some fabulous prizes. Here are the winners:
Non-Professional Winner: Sandy Boudreau
Sandy surprised her 10 year-old son by redecorating his room while he was away at camp for $958.04. We love that she sent a photo of his reaction!
Prize: Sandy will receive $1,500 in gift certificates from our sponsors Floor & Decor Outlets, The Blind Ladies, Artee Fabrics & Home and 1-800-JUNK.
Non-Professional Honorable Mention: Mary Warner
Mary’s living room makeover includes an industrial-style bookshelf that she built with plumbing parts. She spent $729 to furnish the space in her new loft, which she writes about on her blog Coucou Home.
Non-Professional Honorable Mention: Lisa Williams
For $317, she created a welcoming guest room with new bedding, thrift store finds and an heirloom cane chair. Lisa is an avid DIYer and the author of the blog Before Meets After.
Professional Winner: Pia Whited, The House of Tramone Interiors
A brightly painted concrete floor is the centerpiece of Pia’s design for this House of Tramone client. The total makeover cost $991.80.
