Riggins Lesmez brings a service-first mindset to the residential and commercial roofing business with Corey Construction. With a background in hospitality, including over seven years at Chick-fil-A, Lesmez transitioned into the industry fueled by a personal connection and desire for new challenges. It’s his ability to connect, communicate and care deeply for his partners that’s defined his early success.

Who inspires you at work, and why?
Riggins Lesmez: I value those moments when the industry veterans give me words of encouragement and say they see a bright future for me. It’s rewarding to feel like they see the intangible characteristics I have and remind me to keep doing what I’m doing.

What advice would you give to others working to make an impact on their industry?
RL: Be involved in groups or organizations bigger than yourself. Find ways to serve and give with your time and resources. God will bless the work you do if you’re willing to bless others with what he’s provided to you in the first place.

What did you want to do when you were a kid?
RL: I didn’t grow up with any particular dream for a job. I just wanted to enjoy the people I’m surrounded by and the work I do. I never imagined I’d be in this industry, much less in this kind of role, especially at my age, but because of my experiences, I’ve learned a tremendous amount about how going the extra mile and exceeding expectations in service plays a major role in how people feel cared for.
