The 2011 Grant Park Summer Shade Festival: Don’t Miss Summer’s Last Hurrah!

Running August 27 & 28 (Saturday & Sunday), the Historic Grant Park plays host to an exciting mix of activities, events & entertainment of which summer is the perfect season to enjoy. Lace up your tennis-shoes and kick (run or walk)-off the festival on Saturday morning with the Adams Realtors 5K Run for the Park—along with the Grant Park Conservancy and the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival, Inc., Adams Realtors plan and coordinate the annual festival to “bring focus and new life to Atlanta’s oldest park” (Rick Kern). Find treasures in summer’s shade by visiting the Festival Artist Market, where a wide spectrum of Atlanta’s artists and vendors showcase anything from sand art to beauty products to one-of-a-kind jewelry. Pop the wine corks and grab your forks and savor some of the most sophisticated and delicious dishes in the area crafted by Atlanta’s most celebrated chefs and culinary innovators in the Corks & Forks food and wine event, presented by Lincoln. Kids joining the excitement? No problem! The festival features a Children’s Area complete with animated storytellers, circus jugglers & more! In addition to all of these exciting events, live entertainment hits the park’s stages to ensure an upbeat time, even if you find yourself enjoying the day relaxing on summer’s grass!
