This Month’s Home Project – Cool, Clever Kitchen
Talk about clean lines. Here’s a kitchen remodel that blends warm textures with cool colors to produce some contemporary, yet cozy, results. The kitchen opens to the family room and dining room, making it an entertainer’s dream. Two symmetrical islands were designed as dual workstations and they also double as seating and prep/clean-up areas. (Each has its own sink and dishwasher to make clean-up after an event practically effortless.)
Small touches make a big difference, like the convenient pot filler faucet and separate freezer and refrigerator towers. One of the most fascinating things about the kitchen is the interplay of lights and darks and surface textures—shiny and matte, smooth and tactile. The cabinetry features four colors—a warm, light cherry, a light high-gloss lacquer, oak in a dark anthracite finish for the oven surrounds, and stainless steel drawers under the rangetop.
The homeowners worked closely with the designers to create the serene ambiance and classic appeal they desired. This incredible remodel clearly, comfortably, cleverly delivers.
