What is the difference between Fibrex® and fiberglass?

A: Fibrex is a composite material made up of 40% wood and 60% plastic, while fiberglass is a type of fiber-reinforced plastic using glass fibers. Fibrex is twice as strong as vinyl. Meanwhile, Infinity from Marvin’s Ultrex® fiberglass is eight times stronger than vinyl and three times stronger than Fibrex. The stronger the material, the thinner your window frames, which means Ultrex fiberglass windows allow for more daylight coming into your home and bigger views.

Fibrex® is a registered trademark of Andersen Corporation. Ultrex® is a registered trademark of Marvin Lumber and Cedar Co, LLC.
