A Coffee Nook for Coffee Lovers
Is there a better way to start your day than with a good cup of coffee? The previous usage of this homeowner’s breezeway didn’t match their lifestyle or accommodate their routines, so Rosa Santiago Zimmerman with RSZ Design + Development created a new area that the client could use every day. “We wanted to showcase how luxurious selections such as antique mirror tile backsplash, antique brass pot filler and honed quartz countertops could harmoniously marry the utilitarian features of coffee mugs and several coffee machines. The goal was an aesthetically pleasing, yet useful area that could serve its purpose—providing a jolt of java, while looking sleek and inviting,” said Zimmerman.
DETAILS
➊ “The reflectivity of the natural light against the antique brass hardware, the white cabinets and the cream quartz counter allow this space to look and feel bright, cheerful and spacious,” Zimmerman said.
➋ Custom drawers in a coffee bar hide the clutter of coffee filters, Keurig pods, tea bags and sugar and help keep your counter clean. You can also use the space to store coffee mugs.
➌ “Light diffusion was the goal when selecting this mirror tile backsplash. We wanted an edgy element among all the classic white and cream hues of the cabinets, trim, walls and countertops. This exact backsplash is available at your local Floor & Décor.”
➍ Pro Tip: If space is limited, you might have to get creative with your layout. Walls behind dining tables or transition hallways could be built out to create a caffeine station. Revive an old dresser, add floating shelves and use a mural or wallpaper to define the space.
