A Free-Flowing Floorplan

Makeover by Saw Horse Inc., (404) 256-2567, www.sawhorse.net

The owners of this Sandy Springs home wanted to upgrade their cramped, dated kitchen to a more modern, free-flowing space while also turning their rarely used screened porch into a sunroom that blended with the rest of the home. To keep within budget, the experts at Saw Horse Inc. used the existing footprint of the home to create a kitchen and sunroom that seamlessly flowed into each other. For four months the team worked to remodel the kitchen and encase the porch, all the while keeping the project green by using Low-E windows and Icynene insulation. By using this particular insulation along with energy-efficient windows, an updated HVAC was not needed to accommodate the new space. The kitchen and sunroom were remodeled with hardwood floors throughout, and new Kraftmaid cabinetry was installed. The resulting renovation brings more functionality and style to the owners‚ living space, and they have the satisfaction of knowing their home makeover was completed with the environment in mind.
