Atlanta Design Team Wins First Place in Wellborn Cabinet’s National Design Contest

For the second year in a row, the design team of George Taylor, of Eastlight Studio, and Gary Tilson, of Barefoot Kitchens (formerly American Classic Designs), have won two first place awards in Wellborn Cabinet’s National Design Contest. The competition is held regularly to showcase creative use of Wellborn cabinetry in kitchens, baths and other areas of the home.

Taylor’s winning entry, a home office project in Milton, features a custom computer workstation with a wraparound countertop and built-in storage.

Tilson, on the other hand, won for a master bathroom design in Milton, which integrates a contemporary vanity into a full wall of cabinetry with tall linen storage and a lighting soffit, giving the completely reworked space a strong architectural presence.

Taylor, who is a registered interior designer, and Tilson, who is an architect and founded Barefoot Kitchens, previously worked together as American Classic Designs. Barefoot Kitchens is a dealer of Wellborn cabinetry.
