Can HardiPlank® be installed on top of my existing siding?

There are a few instances when we will install directly on top of the existing siding, such as if the existing siding provides a flat surface and is in good condition. If we have to remove it, we dispose of the old siding, replace rotted or damaged plywood sheathing and install a vapor barrier. We then pressure wash, caulk, prep and paint your new product.
