In the December Kitchen & Bath Issue of Atlanta Home Improvement, we included some of the results from the new Homes.com Atlanta Kitchen and Bath Survey. Here is a little more about the survey and more data we think you will find interesting:

The survey was targeted at Atlanta homeowners and garnered 186 responses. Of the respondents, 85 percent were female with 33 percent having lived in their home for 7 years or more and 50 percent looking to remodel within the next year. Overall, 77 percent of participants would like to remodel their kitchen first.

While 55 percent of participants have an economical budget, they plan on using it towards updating appliances and décor in their kitchens and bathrooms. However, survey results do show contrasting views on décor. Of the responses, 86 percent preferred a light color scheme in the bathroom while 59 percent chose dark features in the kitchen.

Participants chose dream amenities as well as necessities to create a relaxing environment throughout kitchens and bathrooms. Dream amenities include heated floors, bathroom skylights and professional grade ranges and hoods in the kitchen. Atlanta consumers are seeking relaxing bathroom amenities like multi-spray showers and Jacuzzi tubs. Granite surfaces and island countertops seem to be traits sought after in the kitchen. Survey results show a rise in standards, as homeowners are updating their living spaces to create a more luxurious, comfortable environment.

More results from the kitchen and bath survey are summarized in this cool infographic:
