For more than four decades, Howard Payne Company has been a trusted resource for homeowners. The third-generation business now offers Samsung’s smart kitchen appliances, which are ideal for the tech-savvy.

Three of the pillars Howard Payne Jr. founded his kitchen appliance company on in 1976 were Christian values, hard work and making friends. Today, the third-generation company maintains that legacy—a team built from family and close friends with more than 180 years of experience combined, operating on honesty and fairness and showing why doing business this way is the most important bottom line.
It’s also hard to argue against their success that proves it. In 43 years, the shop has evolved from its original Chamblee-Tucker Road location into a 22,500-square-foot building that boasts an expansive luxury showroom, private offices and large warehouse. Run today by Payne’s sons, Jon and Jeff, the staff has grown from one employee to 20, including five grandsons and a fourth generation only a few years away. They carry the most high-end appliance brands in the industry like Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Viking, KitchenAid, Bosch, Samsung and more. In short, they’ve made a name for themselves in the industry, truly owning their reputation as Atlanta’s premier kitchen appliance dealer.
“We’re built on integrity, character, hard work, a willing spirit—all of those things lend itself to building a successful company,” says Jeff Payne, co-owner. “There’s no magic bullet—it’s just being honest and fair and doing what you say you’re going to do. The rest takes care of itself.”
“People can buy these products anywhere, but we know they’re buying from us because of what we stand for and who we are,” adds Jon Payne, co-owner. “They’re buying from us because that’s like buying from friends. That’s how my dad did it, that’s what he taught us and so that’s how we’re still
doing it.”
The gorgeous showroom, which offers a warm and welcoming feel, was designed by interior designer Becky Payne (Jon’s wife). The talented visionary is also responsible for the addition of the new Samsung vignette that was brought to the showroom last year. This special space showcases the brand’s Chef Collection, a line appealing to a digitally affluent demographic that wants to operate their kitchen from their smartphone. For a generation that depends on staying connected in every aspect of life, this line helps them build a kitchen that will definitely look good, but also earn its keep.
“The Samsung Chef Collection is also perfect for our clients who don’t necessarily want to spend as much on an appliance package, but still want those very unique features,” says Jeff. “They can see what’s in their fridge or preheat their oven from an app on their phone.”
Staying in tune with their customers is just a part of what distinguishes the experience at Howard Payne Company. Even after you’ve picked out your new appliances, Howard Payne Company handles everything using its own team, such as the delivery and installation in about four to six weeks, as well as coordinating services and repairs once they’re installed. Removing third-party hiccups means appliances are ready to use as soon as the Howard Payne team has left.
“We want it to be a great experience,” says Jon. “Working hard and treating people fairly—that’s what we want to do.”
“My dad always said you’re not just selling appliances, you’re building a relationship,” says Jeff. “He didn’t have many hobbies, because he genuinely loved coming to work and helping people. I’m lucky I can say the same thing … I only wish our dad was here to see it.”
When the Payne family wants to go out for a bite to eat after work, they swing by Taqueria del Sol. They love the food there and even order catering from the restaurant for many of the events at the showroom.

A Harder Working Hub
Samsung moved into Howard Payne’s showroom to show off the digitally advanced and pristine Chef Collection. This “smart” line of chef-inspired appliances complements a connected, on-the-go lifestyle that nods to both the art of cooking and the need for efficiency.
With almost 30 pieces on display, this section gets you hands on with some of the most exciting features. From your smartphone, the Family Hub Refrigerator lets you see what’s inside, keeps track of your grocery inventory, signals upcoming expiration dates, suggests recipes, and more. The microwave oven combo with Flex Duo technology lets you cook two dishes at separate temperatures in the same oven. Efficiency has arrived.
