Dresser Drawer

On Tuesday, July 30, from 6-8 p.m., IKEA will present its Top Drawer charity event to benefit Devereux Georgia, which serves children experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges brought on by abuse, neglect, mental illness, sexual exploitation, or intellectual/developmental disabilities. This event allows students from the Savannah College of Art and Design, The Art Institute of Atlanta, Georgia State and Atlanta Technical College to decorate an IKEA 3-drawer TARVA dresser. The dressers will be showcased in the store July 20-July 30 for customers to see and purchase raffle tickets for their favorite art pieces. IKEA's goal is to raise at least $10,000 to benefit children in need. The students will be recognized at the event by event curator Maggie Lopez (Art Consultant – Zeitgeist ARTifacts, Inc.) and a panel of judges: Pat Lottier (Publisher – Atlanta Tribune), Jennifer Brett (AJC), Tami Reed (Talking With Tami blog). The students will have a chance to win IKEA gift cards from $100-$500. IKEA Atlanta is located at 441 16th St NW Atlanta, GA 30363. For more information about this event, click here.
