When the owner of this Chapel Hill home enlisted the help of Eastern Remodeling & Cabinet Refacing for a kitchen makeover, he made something clear: he wanted to use the existing cabinetry footprint and keep the original integrity of the room. Therefore, the details would make all the difference in the remodel. The design team began by giving the cabinets a new look with an antique white distressed finish, which is complemented by a contrasting extra-dark walnut stain on the island. Decorative corbels also were added to the island to give it some architectural interest, and Royal Beige granite countertops throughout the space bring in warmth and a sense of refinement. Oil-rubbed bronze hinges and hardware, as well as reeded glass horizontal doors, complete the cabinetry and provide a fresh and attractive appearance for the entire kitchen. And the installation of a copper Stone Forest sink with an oil-rubbed bronze Danze faucet adds just a splash of uniqueness and flair, which is just what the space needed. In the end, a collection of well-thought-out, strategic changes led to an entirely updated kitchen without the need for major demolition and construction.
