Makeover Transforms Atlanta Area Backyard
What was once a tired landscape is now a more functional and beautiful outdoor living space thanks to Seasonal Solution, Inc. The homeowners wanted to enhance views of the existing hardwood forest surrounding their property and attract wildlife to the yard. Bird feeders, pyracantha and itea help attract birds, while an informal terrace seating area made with irregular-shaped crab-orchard stone offers views of the trees, birds and other wildlife.

Before constructing the terrace, the company corrected grading issues by adding a small stone wall along a section of the seating area to direct water away from the foundation. To prevent drainage problems, drain boxes that capture surface runoff were installed as well as a moisture-loving groundcover, which naturally absorbs water. A new privacy fence softened by dogwoods, itea and osmanthus minimizes views of neighboring yards, and a new zoysia lawn with flowing, defined bed lines enhances the curb appeal of the front yard. A drip irrigation system eliminates the need for hand watering and helps conserve water.
