My Home Improvement Magazine Celebrates 22 Years

Most of the talk was DIY in nature: “Check out this cool wallpaper” or “I love this paint color” and sometimes, “we knocked out a wall to open up our kitchen and den.” But it was clear…everyone was getting home improvement fever.
One month later, the world changed. On September 11, 2001 we were attacked. Our country was in mourning. Travel plans were halted and the “staycation” became a real thing. Equity mortgages became plentiful and the DIY projects advanced to more sophisticated remodels of everything from kitchens and baths to elaborate outdoor spaces—anything to turn our homes into a sanctuary.
HGTV hit the Atlanta market around the same time, inspiring us right from our living rooms. Ever since, our love for making our homes better hasn’t slowed. And we love sharing what we learn more than ever.
We are honored to continue to bring our home improvement community ideas, inspiration and the best resources our city has to offer for making your projects, large or small, happen. In celebration of 22 years, check out some of our best issues here and online at www.atlantahomeimprovement.com
