My Top Trends to Follow in 2025

Cabinets Sherwin-Williams Color of the Year: Quietude

I’ve never been a big trend follower (or setter), but I do love to see what people are excited about for the upcoming year.  There are a ton of new ideas, smart products and interesting home services that have my wheels turning, but here are my top picks for 2025:

1. HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams Color of the Year: Quietude. This is a soft, calming sage green with subtle blue undertones that can be used in plenty of ways throughout our spaces—In fact, the designers from Stash Décor suggest color drenching a room in your home as a way to refresh your look—this wispy hue is the perfect way to test out that trend.

2. Warm Wood tones. A timeless trend, in my opinion, check out the custom built-in shelves by RSZ Design + Development. I love that this look provides clean lines yet evokes a feeling of coziness.

3. Non-Toxic Cookware. This is the gift that keeps on giving. The reports about microplastics are pretty scary, and the risks of cooking with products that contain them have me cleaning out my cabinets, pronto. It doesn’t hurt that the options (check out Caraway and Greenpan) are especially good looking!

4. Getting Rid of Grout. Our editor is knee-deep (almost literally) in an emergency bathroom remodel thanks to faulty grout, so this year I’m backing the trend of large-format tile requiring minimal grout and exploring the options that don’t use it at all.

5. Hardscape. I love stone, be it flagstone or natural stone pavers. It’s a way to clean up the look of an outdoor space while keeping it close to nature. In fact, stay tuned next month:
The Deck-tionary will offer lots of information on how to transform your outdoor space in 2025, including many creative ways to use hardscape.
