Small balcony design by Jana BekJana Bek, owner of Jana Bek Design, had a problem. Her Buckhead apartment had a small balcony that wasn’t an inviting space for entertaining. So the interior designer partnered with Ballard Designs, where she sourced furniture and
décor to create an eye-catching area for hosting guests. She says that most outdoor pieces can be bulky, so she chose armless chairs to
“keep things open and light.”

The wrought-iron legs of the chairs mimic the black iron balusters of her balcony railing, and she chose bright white pads and a porcelain garden stool to lend the space a modern, sleek vibe. Next, she combined strings of weatherproof electric lights sporting retro-style bulbs with the natural glow of outdoor lanterns to create an inviting ambiance at night. “Decorating the balcony really makes it an extension of our home!” Jana explains.
