After having lived in their 1960s-era home for more than 11 years, the owners of this home decided it was time to make a change in their garage area and knew they would need some help. Lonestar Garage Solutions took on this project last fall, transforming the originally dirty and cluttered garage into a sleek and organized space, from floor to ceiling. Made of 3/4” thick high density material, a high-quality furniture-grade material manufactured locally, were precision machined at Lonestar’s mill shop. This ensures that each cabinet is cut to exact size and proportion every time. A Melamine finish was then used on the cabinets, ensuring moisture protection for the cabinets as well as an aid for easy cleaning. Along with new cabinetry, the garage floor was completely redone with TerraChip, a decorative coating system originally used for heavy industrial applications. Lonestar and the home’s owners decided on a unique mosaic pattern, resembling terrazzo but without the cost. Included with the TerraChip system is a polyurea finish that helps minimize UV radiation aging effects. Lone Star also added metal pegboards for strength and space to hang items. Other features in this space include a custom-built epoxy workbench (an application known for being heat and chemical resistant), giving the owners versatility in either standing or sitting while working, sheetrock repairs, new paint, storage racks, as well as new lighting and molding installations.
