Home staging is dressing and designing a home in such a way that appeals to the majority of home buyers 90 percent of the time. With that in mind, is it possible to include current design trends when staging a home for sale? Absolutely. But trendy décor and color must be injected into the space in small doses only. modernhomestaging

Styling a home so that it appeals to the masses doesn’t mean that the space has to be bland and uninteresting. Use the season’s hottest colors such as pink, coral, tangerine, lime green and metallic accessories. An entire room or accent wall painted with one of these fashionable colors would not be aesthetically pleasing for most potential buyers, but small splashes of color will create a modern, fresh look without being overpowering.

Create a few vignettes using color and trendy décor throughout the home by taking advantage of flat surfaces such as coffee tables, end tables, buffets, and desks. Use large trays and oversized accessories so that decorative items make a statement and do not get lost in the overall design of the room. Just remember that bold, fashion-forward accessories require that the rest of the space be uncluttered and neutral.

DON’T shy away from the latest trends when staging your home for sale. Feel free to experiment with color, pattern, scale, and finish. However, if you decide to experiment with up-to-the-minute accent pieces and colors when staging for sale DO make use of a basic design principle; use restraint.
