Kitchen Renovation by Eastern Remodeling & Cabinet Refacing

Wanting to lighten and brighten their outdated kitchen, the owners of this Raleigh-area home recruited the experts at Eastern Remodeling & Cabinet Refacing to give the space an extensive makeover. The design team began by painting the walls in coordinating colors of Faded Burlap and Rolling Stone with a Crisp Lemon accent color by Valspar. Then, they refaced the dark cabinets using a square, raised-panel door and drawer front with an Antique White solid finish and a chocolate glaze, giving the kitchen a contemporary yet timeless look. The team complemented the cabinetry with handles in a Dark Brushed Antique Copper finish from the Durham Collection made by Jeffrey Alexander. The white laminate countertops were replaced with Venetian Gold Brazil granite with a demi-bull edge profile, accompanied by an under-mount stainless sink and faucet by Danze. To complete the look, Eastern Remodeling updated several lighting fixtures and changed the color of the fan to tie it in with the décor’s black accents. Finally, to increase the function of the space, the design team modified the cabinet above the stove to accommodate the installation of a wall-mounted convection microwave; the team also widened the countertop to create an eating area and added decorative corbels to give the space some extra flair. The change is so dramatic that it doesn’t even look like the home’s previous old-fashioned kitchen–and that’s just what the homeowners wanted.
